About
Robert L. Hurley
Author, pastor, retired judge, businessman, and lifelong student of the Bible and church history.
A lifelong interest in faith and history
Robert L. Hurley is a graduate of Abilene Christian University. He majored in Business and minored in the Bible. His interest in the Bible and church history was kindled there and became a lifelong study.
For many years he has studied Protestant and Catholic history, including the early Apostolic church—what has sometimes been called the “Great Church”—from Pentecost through the first centuries of Christianity.
Military, business, and public service
Robert's career has included military service, business, ministry, and government. That career culminated in serving as County Judge for Atascosa County, Texas. He retired from county service in 2022.
Family and writing
Robert is blessed with a wonderful wife, children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Retirement has given him more time to write about the subjects that have been on his heart for many years, especially the history of Christ's church and the work of restoring strong Christian communities.
